Khumjung village(3,840 m) is an ancient town in the Khumbu region/ Everest Region inhabited by Sherpa people. The village resembles ancient Sherpa culture, settlement and civilization. The popular Tenjing-Hillary School is also located in Khumjung Village. The village offers you magnificent views of mountain summits including Mt. Everest. The visit and the exploration of Khumjung Village will be some of the best moments of your life.
The Thame Monastery is the oldest in the Khumbu region. Most people don’t have any idea bout this sacred site in the Khumbu region. The Thame Monastery is located eastward from Namche Bazaar at the lap of the rock. It takes 3-4 hours to walk to get to Thame Monastery from Namche Bazaar. The art and architecture of the monastery will astonish you upon your visit.
You can get almost all types of meals including continental, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Nepali. Mostly, food items like breads, eggs, rice and curry, soups, dumplings, pizza etc. are very popular among the trekkers on Everest Short Trek.
Regarding accommodation, normally, it will be twin-sharing accommodation if you are in the group. Or, if you want private/luxury accommodation during your Everest Short Trek, you need to pay some extra. You can get luxury accommodation in only Namche Bazaar(3,440 m). If you are doing your Everest Short Trekking dependently, then, you need to book your accommodation before the trip. The accommodation will be less standard during peak trekking seasons (Autumn -Sep-Nov and Spring-Mar-May) due to the crowd of people doing Everest trekking. One-night accommodation, normally, costs between (USD 8 -15). But the luxury one may cost (USD 200-300) depending on the place where you stay.
Optionally, you can go camping trekking for your food and accommodation if you want it and enjoy doing it. But, camping trekking is very costly and burdensome.
You can blissfully enjoy the Internet/Wi-Fi facility on Everest Short Trek since it is located near Namche Bazaar and Tengboche. All the towns like Lukla, Phakding, Namche and Tengboche have very good strength Wi-Fi facilities. So, you don’t need to worry about it.
Also, to have access to the internet on your own smartphone, you can have a local SIM card like NCELL or NT in Kathmandu beforehand the trek and can run mobile data on your phone. If you are going to use the Wi-fi/internet offered by the local lodges/hotels/guesthouses, that’s also fine. But, in some cases, it may work slower since many people share the same Wi-fi/internet connection in the lodge. And, one more thing to say is: you have to pay for the internet/Wi-Fi if you want to use the one offered by the lodge. You have to pay per device. Some places have different networks with recharge card systems. You can buy and install your device.
You won’t have any drinking water facilities on your Everest Short Trek. You have to arrange it all on your own. The majority of the trekkers get bottled water on the trail which is easily available and some of the trekkers ask the local lodges to boil the water for them and they carry it. Both options are open to you. If you prefer warm/hot water on the trail, you can ask the local lodges to boil water for you and they charge you some money. If you buy bottled water which is available in every restaurant.. You can refill regular tap water, in a bottle use a water-purifying tablet and use it.
But, don’t try to fill the water from local taps and streams on the trail. If you do like this, then, you may have the possible other minor/major sicknesses which can spoil your entire Everest Short Trek.

You will get a good and undisturbed facility of electricity during Everest Short Trek Nepal. Even though you go to the mountain for trekking and other adventure activities, you can get the facility of electricity to charge your phones and backups. However, in some cases you may have to face the problem of load-shedding and the local lodges and guesthouses may charge you some amount to charge your batteries, backups and phones in remote areas trekking. There won’t be an electricity heating system in the mountain while doing trekking or other adventure activities.
Drinking water must be pure, safe and contamination-free. You can get bottled or purified drinking water during Everest Short Trek even in the mountain which is very safe for you to drink. The majority of the people who make trekking or adventure trips in the mountains go with boiled water which is prepared by the local lodges/guesthouses on the trail which is the best way to keep you safe from contaminated water. However, some people carry water purifying ingredients and they apply it to the drinking water and they drink it. But, don’t try to drink the water from the Local River, stream and taps. The trek ends at Lukla officially with a flight to Kathmandu. The last day's walk is from Namche to Lukla and you wait for the next day’s flight to Kathmandu or Ramechhap and then 4 hours drive to Kathmandu. The flight to Ramechhap is for 20 minutes and the flight to Kathmandu from Lukla is for 40 minutes. Optionally, you fly back to Kathmandu directly by helicopter as well. For this, you have to make a prior request to us to arrange your helicopter flight.
The Lukla weather keeps changing in 15 minutes so it cannot be 100% sure that the flight to Ramechhap or Kathmandu from Lukla can take place at a given time. It may get delayed postponed or even cancelled for a few days. In this case, don’t panic, don’t get agitated and don’t trouble your trekking leader for the delay, cancellation or postponement of flight. Be calm and talk to your trekking lead to find out the way to escape this situation.
You have two options in this case: the helicopter flight to Kathmandu and walk down to Surke and Paiya for 5 hours and get a jeep ride to Salleri and then to Kathmandu. You’d better approach the helicopter first and then go with a walk down to Surke and Paiya. The walk down to Surke and Paiya is very challenging to follow the trail used by mules; the trail is muddy and slippery. Be careful to follow this trail to Paiya via Surke from Lukla.
If you are doing your Everest Base Camp Trek you have to have at least one/two spare days. This will help you make your Everest Trek less stressful and less panicky.
