UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Nepal and Their Entry Fees

Nepal holds 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, each of which has its own entry charge. 7 UNESCO Sites are in Kathmandu Valley and they are part of Kathmandu Day Tour and rests 3 are outside of the valley. Below is an overview of these sites as well as their respective entry fees:

There are 7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley: These are:

1.  Kathmandu Durbar Square

Foreign Nationals: NPR 1,000

SAARC Nationals: NPR 150

Nepalese: Free

Note: Children below 10 years enter for free. 

2. Patan Durbar Square

Foreign Nationals: NPR 1,000

SAARC Nationals: NPR 250

Nepalese: Free

Note: Nepalese entry fees are only for Patan Museum. 

3. Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Foreign Nationals: US$ 15 or NPR 1,500

SAARC Nationals: NPR 500

Nepalese: Free

Note: Children under 10 years enter free. For 11-20 persons, one tour leader can enter free. 

4. Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple)

Foreign Nationals: NPR 200

SAARC Nationals: NPR 50

Note: Children below 10 years enter free. 

5.Boudhanath Stupa

Foreign Nationals: NPR 400

SAARC Nationals: NPR 100

SAARC Nationals: NPR 1,000 (Indian Nationals free)

Note: The temple can be viewed from the rear premises by Non-Hindu tourists.
