You will begin your Dhampus- Saragnkot Trek with Chitwan from Kathmandu after your arrival and a short briefing regarding the trip. The trip will take you through Kathmandu to the Prithvi Highway to Pokhara. You will really love being in Pokhara, one of the best travel destinations in Nepal.

Next, the trip will take you to Dhampus, a popular village in the Annapurna region near Pokhara and the to Australian Camp. From both places, you will enjoy witnessing breathtaking mountain views with a stunning sunrise. At the moment, you will feel really blessed with the trip.

The second day’s wall from Australian Camp to Sarangkot is a bit longer. The new trail has been opened with a stone paved trail just a small portion of this trip from Naudanda to Kaskikot. While walking along the ridge of Kaskikot, you will experience that heaven is with you to witness nature’s grandeur. Relish on another sunrise and mountain views from Sarangkot and you drive back/walk back to Pokhara.

Finally, 8 days Dhampus- Sarangkot Trek with Chitwan takes you to Chitwan National Park with all-exciting activities like canoeing, jungle walking, jeep safari, visit to elephant breeding centre and Tharu cultural show and especially, Chitwan National park is popular for royal Bengali tiger and one-horned rhino. You can also do Sarangkot Hiking from Pokhara but this trip is far better than that one. 

Required Permits

You don’t need any trekking permits for your Dhampus-Asutralian Camp Trek as we are not going into any protected areas, restricted areas or national parks during the trek. The Dhampus- Australian Camp Trekking trail doesn’t touch the Annapurna Conservation Area. The Annapurna Conservation Area begins from Pothana and we are not going to Pothana, anyway.

So, you needn’t apply for any kind of trekking permit like a National Park Entry Permit or Protected Area Permit, TIMS Card or restricted area permit. You can make this trip happen without any kind of trekking permit. So, it’s gonna be cheaper for you as well.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu 1,338 m and transfer to hotel.


After you land in Kathmandu, our staff will attend you at the airport. They will bring you to the hotel in a private van or car. You will refresh and enjoy short walks on the streets while our staff prepares for the trek. You will have dinner and spend the night in Kathmandu.

Optional Itinerary: If arrive earlier in the afternoon or few days earlier, you can do some other UNESCO World Heritage Sites tours in Kathmandu valley or a short day/day hiking around/near Kathmandu valley. Or if you want us to set up itinerary for you, contact us. 

Day 2 : Drive to Pokhara 860 m. 6 hour drive covering 220 km / 137 miles. 
(Flight-Optional)

Morning with pack breakfast, get ready to go Tourist Bus park for overland journey to Pokhara. An exciting drive about normally 6 to 7 hours if it is not Traffic jam following the main Nepal busy highway, the drive leads along Trisuli River. One of the most popular river for rafting adventure, the drive then diverts towards west to reach Pokhara city. Along the drive one can experience the rural farm life with grand views of snow-capped peaks. Slowly the drive ends on reaching Pokhara by the lovely Phewa Lake side, where all good hotels are located. After checking into a nice rooms, having time to browse around the Phewa Lake side.

(Optional:  Kathmandu to Pokhara, a scenic flight of 30 minutes)

Day 3 : Drive to Phedi and trek to Dhampus (1750m),3 hours

Leave the hotel after a warm and beautiful breakfast from Pokhara and 20 minuts drive to Phedi with privet vehicle and walk about 2 to 2 and half hour to get Dhampus. After you reach Dhampus you will have a lunch with beautiful Annapurnas and Machhapuchhre mountain views and during the day, you begin walking around the village with mesmerizing mountains and valley views.

 

Day 4 : Trek to Sarangko (1600m) via Naudanda and Kaskikot ( 1788m) ( 6 hrs.)

After the breakfast leave from Dhampus walk ascend up to Naudanda. After Naudanda, you will enjoy the walk along the ridge of Kaskikot(1788m) viewing mesmerizing Machhapuchhre, all Annapurnas and Manaslu. 

At Kaskikot, you will enjoy ancient things like palace, arts and architecture and some religious insights as well.  

You will arrive at Sarangkot and stay overnight at lodge. 

Day 5 : Walk down to Pokhara -860m- 4 hrs

Rise early in the morning and go up to the Sarangkot Viewpoint and enjoy the mountain views including giant Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Annapurnas, Himal Chuli, Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. 

Then, you will have your breakfast and walk down to Pokhara with astonishing view of Pokhara city, Phewa Lake, World Peace Stupa and Pumdikot Shiva Statue. 

After you arrive in Pokhara, you can do half-day isghtseeing tour to Davis Fall, Gupteswor Mahadev Cave, World Peace Pagoda and Pumdikot Shiva Statue. 

Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara. 

Day 6 : Drive to Chitwan -415m - 6 hrs

You follow Prithvi Highway till you get Mugling and take right turn and head to Narayanghat. Within 2 hours of drive, you will arrive at Chitwan and involve in some activities like a short walk to see rhinos and sunset at the Bank of Rapti river. 

Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 7 : All Chitawan Activities ( Canoeing, Bird and Crocodile Watching, Visit to Elephant Breeding Center, Jeep Safari and Tharu Cultural Show)

After a warm breakfast at Chitwan Hotel/resort, you will go for bird watching with canoeing. You can see a large number of crocodiles and birds species. You will enjoy this trip to seeing a very peaceful surrounding of Chitwan National Park in Rapti River. 

After lunch, you will go for jungle safari/ jeep safari. We avoid elephant safari because our ethics doesn't let us violate the rights of animals like elephants. We also go to see elephant breeding center and finally attend a Tharu Cultural Dance and entertainment programs in the evening.

Stay overnight at hotel and prepare for the next day's drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 8 : Drive Back to Kathmandu ( 1338m)- 6 hrs.

Morning, after breakfast departs from the hotel for another drive back to Kathmandu by a luxury bus. You will enjoy this drive along Trishuli River Bank and arrive at Thankot. On reaching Thamel or near about then check into respective hotels, The afternoon is free for leisure for individual activities and attend, in the evening, a Farewell Dinner with a Nepali cultural program.
