The Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage tour is a 14-day tour. On this tour, we take you to various religious places all over Nepal. The tour starts as you travel to various pilgrimages in Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, we visit the temples and monasteries of nearby districts like Kavre, Bhaktapur, and Patan. 
After visiting the important places near Kathmandu, we drive to Kurintar, Pokhara, Muktinath, and Lumbini. In this tour, you will travel through all three geographical regions of Nepal: The Himalayan region, the Hilly region, and the Terai region.

This tour does not include harsh and difficult trekking. So, you can do this tour at any time of the year. However, the months of September, October, November, March, April, and May are the best to do this tour. During these months, the weather is pleasant. Also, most festivals fall during this time. 
Must know information
You will be visiting different destinations in high altitude (Muktinath) as well as low altitude (Lumbini). So, there will be changes in climate. The sudden change in weather could be harsh on some people. Thus, you need to pack appropriate clothing for the tour.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Kathmandu Arrival (D)

Our staff will pick you up from the airport and bring you to the hotel, where you can refresh and relax. Our team and guides will provide you necessary information about the trip by the evening.

Day 2 : Kathmandu Pilgrimage Sites visit: Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Budhanikantha, Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square (B, L, D)

On the first day of the tour, we will take a tour through the religious sites in the Kathmandu valley. After breakfast, we will first visit the Pashupatinath temple. It is the most famous temple for Hindu pilgrims. From Pashupatinath, we visit Boudhanath, Budhanikantha, and Swayambhunath before taking a tour to Kathmandu Durbar Square. 

Most of these sites we visit in Kathmandu are UNESCO world heritage sites. Boudhanath and Swayambhunath are some of the most important places for Buddhist pilgrims all over the world. After visiting Taleju Bhawani in Kathmandu Durbar square, we return to the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to Timal "Guru Padma Sambaba Cave, monastery" and drive back to Namobuddha ON Stay Namobuddha (B, L, D)

After breakfast in Kathmandu, we prepare to drive to Timal early in the morning. Located at a distance of around 60 km northeast from Kathmandu, we head toward Timal along the Araniko highway, enjoying the beautiful hills and rivers. A two-hour drive takes us to Timal. 

In Timal, we visit the famous Guru Padma Sambaba Cave. This cave is named after the 8th-century Buddhist monk. We visit the monastery and drive back to Namobuddha. In Namobuddha, we visit other monasteries and temples. Overnight in Namobuddha.

Day 4 : Namobuddha Sightseeing and Drive back to Kathmandu by visiting Red Tara Monastery Bhaktapur, Kamal Binayak and visit Boudhanath, Overnight Bouddha (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we take a short walk around Namobuddha for sightseeing. We visit monasteries and local people. After that, we drive back to Kathmandu. Before reaching Kathmandu, we make a stop at Red Tara Monastery in Bhaktapur. We explore the Red Tara Monastery, which is one of the most important monasteries in Bhaktapur. From there, we visit the Kamal Binayak temple, which is very important for Hindus. We then drive back to Kathmandu. We visit Boudhanath in the evening. You can also try local food like Momo and Laphing in Boudhanath. Overnight in Boudhanath.

Day 5 : Pharping "Guru Padma Sambaba Cave, Monastery" and Swayambhunath and Budhanikantha ON Thamel (B, L, D)

After breakfast in Bouddha, we start our tour to Pharping. A popular spot in the western part of Kathmandu, it is about 1-hour drive from Bouddha. In Pharping, we visit the famous religious shrine for Buddhist pilgrims. This monastery is named after a popular Tibetan monk who lived in the 8th century. From Pharping, we drive back to Swayambhunath temple.

Swayambhunath is probably the most iconic stupas in Nepal. It is enlisted in World Heritage Site by UNESCO. From Swayambhunath, we can see all of Kathmandu. We observe the area around the stupa and return to Budhanikantha. Budhanikantha is a popular place for pilgrimage. There is a massive statue of Lord Vishnu. From Budhanikantha, we drive back to Thamel. Overnight in Thamel.

Day 6 : Thamel Bhagwan Bahal, Visit Patan Golden Temple, 1000 Buddha Bihar, and Sankhu Bajrayogini, ON Bouddha (B, L, D)

Today is our last day in Kathmandu. Early in the morning, we visit a famous temple in Thamel, Thamel Bhagwan Bahal, before heading to the Golden Temple in Patan. Golden temple is a Buddhist Stupa. The stupa is popular for feeding rats. From the golden temple, we head south of Patan Durbar Square to visit the 1000 Buddha Bihar. It is named after the number of tiles used to build this temple. From Patan, we head to the eastern part of the valley, Sanga, to visit Sankhu Bajrayogini temple, also known as Bodhisattva temple. It was built in the 16th century by Pratap Malla. Finally, we drive back to Bouddha. Overnight in Bouddha.

Day 7 : Drive from Kathmandu to Kurintar: Visit Manakamana then drive to Pokhara (B, L, D)

Today, we leave the Kathmandu valley to visit other pilgrimage sites outside Kathmandu. We first drive to Kurintar, which is about 3 hours from Kathmandu. From Kurintar, we take the cable car to reach the Manakamana Temple, which is one of the most important temples for Hindus. People believe that if you pray with a pure heart in Manakamana, your desires come true. After visiting the temple, we come back to Kurintar and drive to Pokhara. Pokhara is a 3-hour drive away from Kurintar. You can take a short walk around Lakeside in the evening. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 8 : Drive from Pokhara to Muktinath via Jomsom (B, L, D)

After an early breakfast in Pokhara, we prepare for a long drive along the bumpy roads of the Himalayan region of Nepal. From Pokhara, we start our drive to Jomsom, headquarter of Mustang, and one of the most important cities in this region. On the way, you can enjoy scenes of mountains like Dhaulagiri and Annapurna along with apple orchards. From Jomsom, we head to Muktinath. Muktinath is one of the most important temples for Hindus and Buddhists. After 7-8 hours of driving, we reach Muktinath. Overnight in Muktinath.

Day 9 : Muktinath Excursion and back to Pokhara (B, L, D)

Today, we take a tour around one of the most important and most visited temples of Nepal. There are 108 water taps in the temple premises dedicated to Lord Vishnu. There are some monasteries around the temple. There is a natural gas that burns all the time. You can also see the largest Saligram (a holy rock) in the world. After exploring the Muktinath temple, we drive back to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 10 : Pokhara Pilgrimage sites visit: Talbarahi, Bindyabasini, Gupteswor, etc. (B, L, D)

After breakfast in the hotel, we start to explore the religious sites of Pokhara. First, we visit the Tal Barahi temple. Located in the middle of Fewa Lake, we take a boat to see the temple. From Tal Barahi, we visit the Bindyabasini temple. Bindyabasini is another important temple of Pokhara. From Bindyabasini, we head towards another most important place of Pokhara, Gupteswor Mahadev Cave. The cave has time tested cave formations with ample natural lighting and an underground waterfall. After visiting the cave, we drive back to the hotel. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 11 : Drive to Lumbini (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we start our day with a drive to Lumbini. We drive through the winding roads of the hilly region of Nepal. Enjoy the views of the lush green hills and rivers like the Andhi Khola on the way to Lumbini. You can also see many small settlements on the way. After the 6-hour drive through the windy roads, we reach Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Overnight in Lumbini.

Day 12 : Lumbini Sightseeing (B, L, D)

Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. It is, by default, the most important and holiest place for Buddhist pilgrims. We take a tour around the Lumbini area. At first, we visit the Mayadevi temple, where Lord Buddha took his first steps. We also visit other popular stupas and temples like Peace stupa, Golden temple, and many other temples built by countries like Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and many more. Overnight in Lumbini.

Day 13 : Drive back to Kathmandu| Farewell Dinner (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we catch an early bus for Kathmandu. We drive through the plains of Terai of Nepal to the hilly region. We pass by many villages and small settlements. We drive along rivers like the Trishuli. The green hills and beautiful paddy fields look very beautiful. After driving for 7-8 hours, we reach Kathmandu. You will have a farewell dinner with our staff. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 14 : Departure (B)

Today is the day we say goodbye. This is where our journey with you ends. Our staff will make sure that you reach the airport on time for your flight back home.
