Poonhill Luxury Trek with Chitwan begins from Kathmandu with an exciting welcome by our team with a private vehicle and drop you to the hotel. Then, you will go to explore UNESCO World Heritage sites located in Kathmandu including Patan Durbar Square, Swyombhunath Stupa, Bouddhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple. After you explore and visit these UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the capital city, Kathmandu, you will switch your trip to Pokhara. In Pokhara, you can explore places like Fewa Lake, Gupteswor Mahadev Cave, Davis Fall, World Peace Pagoda and a Grand Mahadev/ Shiva Statue with several holy Shiva Lingas.

Next, we will board Birethanti by a Private vehicle ride and then trek to Ulleri i. Before you get to Ulleri, you will pass through Hemja, Phedi, Gahttekulo, Kande, Naudanda, Nayapool and Birethanti. Birethanti is the place where the Annapurna Conservation Area Office is located. After you ascend to Banthanti, you will take a rest and stay overnight there and take another day trip to Ghorepani (2865m). Ghodepani/Ghorepani is a popular viewpoint in the Annapurna region just below Poonhill and on the way to Tatopani. The village, Ghorepani offers you astonishing views of Mt. Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Gandapurna, Himchuli,  and Manaslu. The village has numerous normal and luxurious lodges and hotels.

The next day, early in the morning, you will ascend to the top of Poonhill and celebrate enthralling views of entire mountain panorama in Annapurna region including giant Dhaulagiri, the highest one in Annapurna region, Mt. Annapurna-I and entire Annapurna massif, Machhapuchhre, Gandapurna, Himchuli, Ganesh Himal and Manaslu with stunning sunrise. The contrast between the mountain panorama and the astonishing sunrays will marvel you tremendously.

After you marvel at incredible mountain panoramas and the stunning sunrise from Poonhill, you will board your trip to Pokhara and to Chitwan. As you go to Chitwan, you will enjoy the Chitwan National Park Activities like canoeing, bird and crocodile watching, jeep safari, elephant breeding centre and rhinoceroses’ movements.  In the evening, you will enjoy Tharu Cultural Shows along with typical local dishes.

Difficulty Level 

Poonhill Trek is an easy trekking trip in Nepal in the popular Annapurna region. The highest elevation you get is 3200m which is Poonhill. Ghorepani is located at 2800m above sea level. 

Going up to 3200m above sea level in the mountain is not difficult and even the  Poonhill trekking trail is not technical and slippery with rocky hills and steep slopes. The trail is cool and serene in Annapurna Conservation Area taking you all the way up through lush forest and natural waterfalls till you get to the highest elevation, Poonhill and Ghorepani. 
Summing up, the Ghorepani-Poonhill Trek is for beginners who want to experience an easy trek in Nepal witnessing the entire Annapurna mountain ranges. Trekkers trekking to Poonhill don’t require any technical trekking skills. Yes, beginners can do this trek. 
Required Permits 
Two types of different permits are required for your Poonhill Trek. They are TIMS Card ( Trekking Information Management System) Card and Annapurna Conservation Area Entry Permit. The TIMS Card costs USD 20 and Annapurna Conservation Area Entry Permits costs USD 30. You can obtain these Poonhill Trek Permits from your local travel partner or you can collect them directly. 
For Chitwan National Park, each of you has to have an entrance which will be managed by the national park guide and the cost is included in the cost of the trip mentioned. 
Food and Accommodation  
Until Pokhara, trekkers will enjoy luxury accommodations and they can have the food items they like. But, when they ascend to Ulleri and Poonhill- Ghorepani, we will provide accommodation and food items that will be best on the trail and chance to have the finest accommodation and food items. However, don’t be sad, there are plenty of lodges and guesthouses to organize your accommodation and food. Moreover, your guide will manage your beautiful food and accommodation for you during the trek. The local guesthouses and the lodges will offer you food items with certain criteria with prices mentioned in the menu during your Poonhill Luxury Trek. 
During the time of  Chitwan Activities, all foods and accommodations are included and you will enjoy hotel accommodation in both places and Chitwan
Transportation
You are starting the trek from Kathmandu and you will have two options: air and land If you are starting it from Pokhara, then, you have only one choice that island. The flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara is 40 minutes maximum and the road trip is 7-8 hours. Even, the road gets disturbed by heavy traffic and other issues. So, flight is recommended.
However, we will provide you with the best luxury tourist coach as far as possible from Kathmandu to Pokhara.  
As you end the trek at Ghandruk, you can directly drive back to Pokhara by a four-wheel jeep. You will do the same while driving to Ulleri from Pokhara to begin your Poonhill Luxury Trek with Chitwan.
After you get to Pokhara, you again have to drive to Nayapool/Birethanti for 2 hours and begin the hiking. While returning from Ghorepani-Poonhill, you can drive directly from Ghandruk to Pokhara and Pokhara to Kathmandu. ( Flight from Pokhara is optional)

Guide and Porter 
You require hiring at least a guide for your Poonhill Luxury Trek with Chitwan. Without a guide, you are not permitted to do Poonhill Luxury Trek.
The guide will be a government License holder, coordinating the local flora and fauna, Entire Mountain views, well-known to precautions, local culture and speak English very well. Even the porter will help in many ways like carrying your baggage and helping in walking if the trail is straight up and steep down.
During Chitwan National Park Activities, the affairs will be handled by the authorized and very professional national park guide.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu 1,320 m and transfer to hotel

Your trip starts from Kathmandu Arrive at Nepal International Airport then the Haven Holidays representative will receive you. After getting introduced to the staff there at the Airport your baggage will be loaded either in the car, coach or bus as per group size. A short drive to the centre of Kathmandu city, where your hotel is located.

On checking into your lovely rooms, get refreshed from Jet-Lag, then get ready for group briefing at 4:30 pm, Where you will meet with other members who are going to do Poon Hill Luxury Trek with  Chitwan. You will meet with the CEO of the Company, Tour guide and trek leader brief with related information regarding the trek, jungle safari and culture. Includes details on accommodation and food hours of walks and overnight stops and views along the treks/trips.

Day 2 : In Kathmandu, trek preparation and sightseeing tour (World Heritage Sites Visit)


Day second after Breakfast your Sightseeing tour starts about from 9:30 am and around 4/5 hours touring world heritage sites and back from sightseeing then your time starts to prepare for the trek and Jungle safari tour in the evening time. And Kathmandu is a wonderful old city or city of temples, steeped with historical and religious interesting places, includes many world heritage sites like Swyombhunath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, Bouddhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple.

Day 3 : Drive to Pokhara 860 m. 6/7 hours drive covering 220 km / 137 miles. 


Morning with pack breakfast, get ready to go Tourist Bus park for overland journey to Pokhara. An exciting drive of about normally 6 to 7 hours if there are no Traffic jams following the main Nepal busy highway, the drive leads along the Trisuli River. One of the most popular rivers for rafting adventure, the drive then diverts towards the west to reach Pokhara city. Along the drive, one can experience rural farm life with grand views of snow-capped peaks. Slowly the drive ends on reaching Pokhara by the lovely Phewa Lake side, where all good hotels are located. After checking into a nice room, having time to browse around the Phewa Lakeside.


(Optional: by air from Kathmandu to Pokhara, a scenic flight of 30 minutes)

Day 4 : Drive to Birethati and Trek to Ulleri 1950 m- 5 hrs

After breakfast at the hotel in Pokhara, you will take a 2-hour drive from Pokhara to Birethanti by Private Vehicle and then trek to Ulleri. Initially, you will drive to Kande via Hemja then to Naudanda and Nayapool. After you pass Birethanti, you will ascend to Ulleri. 

Overnight at a lodge at Banthanti. 

Day 5 : Trek to Ghorepani village 2,870 m via Banthanti/Nangethanti and Lower Ghodepani- 05 hrs.

After a refreshing break at Banthanti village populated by Magar and Gurung people, the main hill tribes of Western Nepal. Enjoy the views of Annapurna peaks. The walk continues, from Banthanti, as the trail gets better on a gradual winding path to Ghorepani.The highest overnight stops of the trip, enjoy the trek on a winding path with short ups and lunch in Ghorepani. The walk leads amidst a beautiful forest of pines and rhododendrons to reach the main welcome gate, the entrance to Ghorepani village.


You will enjoy deep woods, serenity and natural waterfalls along the way to Ghorepani. First, you will reach Lower Ghorepani and after 15 15-minute walk, you will get to Upper Ghorepani or Main Ghorepani village. Ghodepani and Ghorepani are the names used for the same village.

Day 6 : Morning hike to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani 2,640 m - 06 hrs

Start the early morning hike, a climb to Poon Hilltop (3210 m) takes about an hour or a little more. On reaching the top and the highest point of the adventure enjoy the stunning sunrise views. Poon Hill with an observation tower to catch more panoramic views of the staggering mountain range. After bright and striking sunrise views along with a grand panorama of the world’s highest peaks of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Annapurna Himalayas with arrays of snow peaks.  Being refreshed with cool morning breathtaking views, head downhill to Ghorepani for breakfast, and then continue walking. From Ghorepani on an alternative route, offers more scenic views with new places of southern ridges of the Annapurna Himalayas. Climb to the top of Deurali Hill, which is almost the same height as Poon Hill and walk down to the river.



After you cross the suspension bridge/wooden bridge, you will ascend to Tadapani. From the river, it takes around 2 hours to get to Tadapani.

Day 7 : Trek to Ghandruk 2,050 m , 3 hours

Morning enjoy another stunning sunrise view from Tadapani, from the lodge of overnight stay. Enjoy the close views of Annapurna peaks, having breakfast morning a short and easy walk to Ghandruk village.

 

Start the morning walk through beautiful woodland to reach the small settlement of Bhaise Kharka. Downhill starts down to a stream and then on a winding trail to Ghandruk. One of the largest Gurung villages around the Annapurna Himalaya range. The Gurung people with similar looks like Poon Magar of Ghorepani villagers. The Gurung follow Hinduism and Buddhism religion with their own ancient culture of the Bon sect of pre-Buddhism. At Ghandruk after checking into the best lodges available, after lunch explore the interesting village and its small Gurung museum.

Day 8 : Walk down to Syauli Bazaar and drive back to Pokhara- 5 hours

Another grand morning view to enjoy along with the last breakfast around the high hills of Annapurna Himalayas. After breakfast, a short walk downhill to the vehicle parking lot, enjoy the exciting drive back to Pokhara. About 20 km / 13 miles aerial distance, but the drive distance is approx. 54.8 km / 34 miles.

 

An interesting drive of more than three hours, as the road follows through lovely farm villages and towns. After an hour more ride, our route diverts from the Modi River uphill to Lumle and Kande. Slowly the drive descends to Nau Danda, and then enters the Pokhara city. On reaching the Phewa Lake side, enjoy the comfort of nice lovely hotel rooms.


Afternoon at leisure for individual activities and stroll around the Lakeside. Along with this, you can explore Phewa Lake, Davis Fall, Gupteswor Mahadev Cave and World Peace Stupa along with a massive Shiva Statue facing Machhapuchhre mountain.

Day 9 : Drive to Chitwan (360m) 84 miles (140 KM) - 5 hrs

Drive at 7 o'clock after your breakfast in Pokhara Hotel,  then, divert south towards low warm areas of the Terai belt. Where the dense green tropical jungle of Chitawan is located, along the drive one can experience rural farm life. The drive heads beyond the main highway through farm villages to reach Sauraha, a town situated close to Chitwan National Park.  On arrival at Chitwan, then check into a nice hotel or resort, where a jungle guide or naturalist will receive you. The briefing is held before checking into your rooms, the guide offers information regarding jungle activities and safari. Afternoon enjoy short nature walks or visit the local Tharu village the indigenous tribes of the Terai belt. 

Go to see the sunset and some rhinoceros in the evening.

Day 10 : Chitwan Activities ( Canoeing, Bird and Crocodile Watching, Visit to Elephant breeding Center, Jeep Safari and Tharu Cultural Show)

After a warm breakfast at Chitwan Hotel/resort, you will go for bird watching with canoeing. You can see a large number of crocodiles and birds species. You will enjoy this trip to seeing a very peaceful surrounding of Chitwan National Park in Rapti River. 


After lunch, you will go for jungle safari/ jeep safari. We avoid elephant safari because our ethics doesn't let us violate the rights of animals like elephants. We also go to see elephant breeding center and finally attend a Tharu Cultural Dance and entertainment programs in the evening.

Day 11 : Fly back to Kathmandu.

Morning, after breakfast departs from the hotel for an interesting flight back to Kathmandu. On reaching Thamel or near about then check into respective hotels, The afternoon is free for leisure for individual activities and attend, in the evening, a Farewell Dinner with a Nepali cultural program.

Day 12 : International departure for homeward bound

Last day in Nepal and at Kathmandu, as time for your respective airlines flight departures. Our guide, staff transfers you to the airport, then bid farewell to Nepal till you return for another exciting adventure.
