This 3-day Poonhill Trek takes you to the top of Poonhill, a popular vantage point in the Annapurna region located at an elevation of 3200m high above sea level, and offers you tremendously magnificent mountain views with stunning sunrise.

The mountain views include Dhaulagiri, Annapurna Massif, Gangapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the most alluring Machhapuchhre. The combination of the first fall of sun rays and the dazzling mountain panoramas will be the moment for a lifetime for the trekkers.

The trek begins from Kathmandu and takes you to Pokhara, then to Nayapool then to Ulleri and finally to Banthanti by jeep in spring Autumn and Winter. But in summer and rainy season, you have to begin this trek from Nayapool/Birethanti since the country's rough road doesn’t support for a jeep ride up to Ulleri and Banthanti. As you ascend to Nangethanti, you will enjoy an incredible walk through deep woods and natural waterfalls. More importantly, if you do this trek in Spring( Mar-May), you will celebrate astonishing flowering rhododendron ( the national flower of Nepal) covering the entire hills. Penultimately, you will get to Lower Ghorepani and ascend to Ghorepani village within 15 minutes.

The ascent up to Ghorepani unveils astonishing views of the entire mountain panorama of the Annapurna region including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna Massif, Gangapurna, Manaslu,  Himchuli, Ganesh Himal and the most alluring Machhapuchhre.

The next day, the trekkers will make another assent to Poonhill which takes around 1 hour to get to the top and celebrate breathtaking mountain views and sunrise. People also do yoga and meditation at the top of the Poonhill.

After witnessing/collecting/experiencing unexpected mountain views and stunning sunrise from the top of Poonhill, trekkers walk down to Ghorepani and either walk down to Tadapani and Ghandruk or directly to Pokhara along the same trail.

If you want to explore Ghandruk, a massive Gurung( indigenous people of Nepal ) village, then, go with the itinerary with Tadapani and Ghandruk or if you want to avoid it, then, walk down to Ulleri and go back to Pokhara on the same day.

The Poonhill trek can be done in 2 days also from Pokhara to Pokhara and 4 days from Kathmandu to Kathmandu. But, these 3 days of Poonhill Trek will take you to Tadapani and Ghandruk too and we also offer you an optional itinerary to Trishuli River Rafting and Chitwan Jungle Safari if you want to combine them with this itinerary
