Further, the trail goes upward through lush rhododendron forests, terraced fields, and local Gurung villages, making the short trek culturally and scenically rich.

In fact, the short Poon Hill Trek 2 days journey begins with a 3–4 hour jeep ride or 5–6 hour bus ride from Pokhara to Ulleri (2,070 m) or Banthanti (1,700 m). From the town of Ulleri, trekkers make a gradual ascent up the stone steps lying amidst dense rhododendron and oak forests.
